Vineyard weddings are a popular choice in New Zealand, where stunning scenery matches country charm. It allows your guests to not only connect with your wedding but to the venue, through the wines and take in the beautiful atmosphere and generations of winemaking history.

There are many styles that will suit a winery wedding. Vintage, glam, rustic chick and boho vintage are some of the styles that all work with a vineyard wedding.

The history of wine appreciation in New Zealand is interesting. An interesting fact is that the Dalmatian people came from a culture rich in wine making, however when they arrived in New Zealand, Kiwis weren't into wine that much and it wasnt until the Americans were stationed here in WW2 that wine was more appreciated in New Zealand.

By the 1950s over 80 wineries were owned by Dalmatian families in West Auckland.

In 1939, Soljans wines was established in Kumeu and operates today as a winery and complete wedding ceremony/reception venue in Auckland. They also hold their annual Berba festival at Easter each year, which is when harvest time is celebrated by the stomping of the grapes.

If you are planning on choosing vineyard wedding, we recommend Soljans Estate Winery. The staff are great, and both the food and wine are exceptional. They can seat 100 guests or this can be extended up to 120 using the courtyard.
