Wedding Photographer Whiritoa | Beach Wedding PhotosSilke and Troy married last Friday, overlooking Whiritoa Beach, on an extremely hot summer day. This couple met at Hot Water Beach when Silke (who comes from Germany) was on her O.E. The ceremony location was beautifully decorated with a sand aisle, shells and dreamcatchers. Their day was personalised with both unity sand (the pouring of two coloured sands into a bottle) and a handfasting ceremony, where their hands were tied together as they ‘tied the knot’. The colours of the ribbon represented Germany and Waikato. The couple were showered in rice as they walked back down the aisle as husband and wife. They were presented with a German game where the couple were presented with a white sheet and a heart shape drawn on the sheet. They had to use one hand and work together use scissors to cut out a heart shape. This is to symbolise overcoming their first challenge in their marriage. Troy then had to carry Silke through the heart that they had cut out. At the reception, with their love of games, the couple had each guest table roll a dice in order to determine who went up for dinner first. A very relaxed, beautiful day. We wish you a happy marriage! Wir wünschen Euch eine glückliche Ehe! The slideshow is at the bottom of the page, with some of the highlights from the day.
