Redwood Forest | Rotorua Wedding Photographer | New Zealand Forest Wedding PhotosAll the way from England, Nick and Natalie’s love has travelled a long way in distance and in years, via South Africa, then Australia and then on to make Rotorua, New Zealand, their home. They have been together for 18 years and decided on 21 April 2018, to make it official. Their wedding was held at Whakarewarewa or known as the Redwood Forest in Rotorua. This forest is known for its magnificent Californian Coast Redwoods. These towering trees, and the fresh forest air create a truly enchanted environment. Perfect for an enchanted wedding! For the morning preparations, they prepared their backyard with a beautifully decorated marquee for their shindig reception. We had four seasons in one day and the weather was a mix of sun, rain and wind. This attempted to wreak havoc with the marquee, but luckily with the aid of the neighbours while we were at the ceremony, they managed to secure it. The bridal transportation was very unique, a mint green VW camper, part of the VW Club. Fantastic transportation to get the bridal party around in. We dropped Nick and his best man Erik at the Corner Pub for pre drinks before the ceremony, as Natalie and her sister, Coralie had their makeup done at the house. Natalie’s best friend Iain made the journey over to New Zealand from Spain and took on the role as 'father of the bride substitute' for the wedding. Both of Natalie’s parents were remembered with their photographs on the registry table. Natalie & Nick’s daughter was a flower fairy and looked magical with her wings. Such a pleasure to photograph. Natalie walked down the aisle to the Proclaimers song, “I’m on my way” and then they both walked down the aisle together to Motorhead’s “Ace of Spades”. You will see from the photos a record, with their names and the Ace of Spades then became the guest book for people to write on. Family and friends did a fantastic job assisting on the day with everything. Congratulations once again to you both and thanks for inviting me along to share and capture your special day! I can’t wait to see your wedding video. Here are some of the highlights from the day in the slideshow below. I would say this is a rather unique theme but really why the forest? Can't they think of anything else simpler or less complicated. I am not saying the designers didn't do them any justice but if I have my own way, I am going to choose something a little more romantic than adventurous. This is like too magical for me. Maybe this theme has a special significance for the newlyweds but it's not for everyone. But then again, it's brilliantly done. They really did a good job here so what more can I say? Just forget everything I said.

It really was a very simple wedding. The photographer and not us, called it an enchanted forest wedding. We chose the forest as we both love nature and we wanted a relaxed informal wedding. How was it ‘complicated? What designers - I put it all together on a small budget.

Hi Mrs Rudd, I've just spent a happy ten minutes looking at your wedding photos again, and really soaking up the atmosphere. It really was beautiful. You all looked lovely, the girls that is! And the men looked great in their shorts. The cake you made was brilliant! I like the photos where you're throttling Mr Rudd, and the snogging pic. But they're ALL good and it was nice to see Iain gave you away. Finley looked gorgeous. Who was your other bridesmaid? And lastly, when will the movie be available for hire?! Love Jac xx
