A match made in heaven - the Wedding of Fanta & Meleane

I first met Fanta and Meleane in January, when Tabula Rasa held their wedding open day. They chose this beautiful venue to host their wedding ceremony and reception.

Tabula Rasa (Latin for ‘new beginning’) couldn’t be a more perfect location to tie the knot. Located in Ramarama, Auckland, the luxurious setting provides multiple areas to capture photos. Particularly beautiful with the autumn colours of May. 

Fanta, who comes from Ethiopia and Meleane from New Zealand of Samon descent (or as Fanta describes, his New Zealand Queen), met through a Christian dating site.   I soon learnt this love match almost didn’t happen, as Fanta was hit by a car while out cycling one day. 

The bride was ready on time, however the bridal car decided not to start! However, it wasn’t too much of a delay. 

The page boy and flower girls were a little shy to walk down the aisle.  It was a beautiful religious ceremony officiated by the Pastor.  They received their blessings and prayers from the family and friends. 

The church band played almost the entire time and there was beautiful singing and numerous dance performances from friends and family throughout the night.

We heard speeches from Meleane’s father, the maid of honour, Tooa and Meleane’s brother, David, who took on the role of best man in place of Fanta’s best friend Willy.  

The beautiful cake was made by Meleane’s sister in law Emma.  Thanks to other Meleane’s brother, being the MC for the day, who did a great job getting everyone organised and the day ran smoothly.

For their guest book, guests were asked to sign their names next to their favourite verse in the Bible. 

Lots of dancing followed the reception meal.
