Sustainable and eco-friendly weddingsThere's no doubt covid19 has taught us all to slow down and rethink everything. The planet benefited with less planes in the sky, less cars on the road and there seems to be an abundance of birds now in Spring. Continuing with this greener image, have you considered ways to have a more sustainable wedding? There are a lot of small different ways you can help the planet. Here are my top tips to help you achieve that. 1. Consider eloping. Less guests need to be invited which means they aren't travelling and making less of a carbon footprint. You also save on food waste. 2. Hire linen and placemats or find items from an op shop like glasses so that you can reuse them. You can find cute glasses that perhaps guests can then take home as favours. 3. With your wedding invitations you can buy seed infused paper. This way the guests can plant your invitations once they are done with it and watch something beautiful grow. If you cant order these invitations then consider using biodegradable paper, electronic invites or including some seed pods for guests to plant and help save the bees! 4. Source your food and flowers locally. 5. Ask your venue to hold off using plastic straws and make sure they recycle bottles. 6. Make sure your hens party and stag do are sustainable too. Its easy just to use plastic and throw out items. 7. Hold off on the confetti, balloons, streamers. 8. Use sustainable fabric when choosing your wedding dress. Use a fabric garment cover and wooden hanger, rather than plastic options. 9. Decorate tables using natural products like eucalyptus tree branches rather than buying more plastic.
